Emelie Santarlasci received her master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy with an advanced certificate in Addiction Studies from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. Prior to joining the Portland DBT Institute, she has worked in various settings such as community mental health, an IOP virtual center, with children and families and in addiction programs. Emelie has been licensed in numerous states and currently has active licenses in Oregon, Texas, Alabama, and Florida. Over the course of her work, she has worked as a primary therapist, team lead, MAT program coordinator, Clinic Supervisor and SUD program manager. Emelie strives to provide a holistic perspective and look at the short and long term well being of individuals and families. Emelie uses a trauma informed care approach that is influenced by evidence-based practices. She believes each person is a unique individual worthy of unconditional acceptance and has the potential for healing and growth. Emelie has a commitment to empathy, respect, confidentiality, best ethical practice, and client autonomy.
