COURSE DESCRIPTION
This presentation will cover the rationale for taking a transdiagnostic treatment approach to youth internalizing concerns (e.g., anxiety, depression, OCD, etc.) to meet the rising wave of mental health concerns in this domain. Many types of youth emotional disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression, OCD) not only overlap in their presentation, but also share many of the same evidence-based techniques. In addition to the rationale for a transdiagnostic approach, this one-day introductory workshop will review in detail the Unified Protocols for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders in Adolescents, including therapy techniques and strategies to maximize your therapeutic toolbox, allowing clinicians to more efficiently treat such problems within a singular approach. This presentation will overview key strategies using didactics and video review.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this one-day training, participants will be able to:
- Gain information about the rationale, theory, and key components of an evidence-based transdiagnostic treatment for youth emotional disorders.
- List the core modules and session content of the UP-A.
- List key strategies utilized in the UP-A and identify appropriate opportunities for their use.
